Forest is Londonâs most affordable and environmentally sustainable micromobility platform. Forestâs operations are zero emission (every bike in the fleet, as well as all service vehicles are powered by certified renewable energy), it is one of just two micro-mobility companies globally to have B Corp accreditation and the only micro-mobility company to have received Verra validation.
In summer 2022, Forest added a fleet of new eBikes to its app to meet a surge in demand for its service and to raise awareness for wider environmental issues.
Named âRiverâ and easily spotted by their bright blue colour, the company wanted to use the âpop-upâ to draw attention to the state of the UKâs waterways and raise money to help restore them.
Five percent of revenue from rides went to The Rivers Trustâs âCorridors Advocacy Campaignâ, which aims to create wildlife corridors along all rivers in the UK. Wildlife corridors are integral to providing shelter, food and habitat for wildlife, whilst also helping improve the quality of water in our rivers.
“According to the Environment Agency, not a single river in England can be classed as being âin good healthâ. Rivers are the lifeblood of all strong and healthy ecosystems. We want to use our Forest bikes to support the UKâs rivers. We hope this partnership will draw attention to the state of the UKâs waterways and raise money to help restore them. The Rivers Trust is doing valuable work to build biodiversity nationwide and Forest is pleased to be able to connect our users to a mission we truly support!”
